That statement is only true for megacities in developed countries: NYC, Paris, London, Tokyo. Rich people (or rather well-off) use public tranport because buying the most expensive luxury car won't make them any faster in the streets on congested megacities.

What they did in some French towns is giving all companies (not employees) a tax to finance free public transit. No town has reversed their decision. Of course shills are trying to impede Paris from implementing that (it would cost 3 billion! How can a region with a GDP of 700 billion find 3 billion!?)

They take interior space into account, and as mine is smaller, it gets into the next tax bracket.
Yes, a lighter, less powerful car with a smaller frontal area, consumes half a liter less per 100 km in average and emits 7 grams less of CO2 per km, but noooooo, you can't carry as much stuff, so you have to pay more.

Big, polluting cars will be taxed extremly. Polluting cars will be taxed a lot, so will big cars.

The root of homelessness is poor education and health care. Plenty of countries care about this, but that doesn't mean you'll ever get rid of all hobos, even if you had a perfect utopia there's still people who consciously choose to live on the streets. You'd be surprised. I'm friends with a guy who has a job but likes living on the street, and he's introduced me to plenty of people who do the same. A lot of them are retired punks.
Of course you could say they're mentally ill precisely because they choose this life, but they're pretty functional.
