>>1428361>What exactly is your political position? On specifically housing? I worry about myself, live where I can afford that allows me a good work/life balance. I don't think anyones tax money should aim to help people that volunteered themselves to live in a place they cannot afford, or allowed themselves to not have a work/life balance, so they can live more like me.
>Clearly the zoning laws in SF are inefficient and anti-capitalistSure, SF is a huge clusterfuck in most ways, so don't live there, simple solution. Even if you want systematic changes, trying to add housing to SF is by far the worst of them. Why not provide advantages to SF employers who allow more employees to work remote, on a statewide level give incentives for employers to have offices in areas more conducive to growth, ANYTHING that isn't "just get more and more people into SF haha!"
Where is this strange notion that people need to be in SF coming from? People WANT to be there because it's nice. Explain to me how building midrises everywhere packed full of lower middle class improves anything for anyone. People are buying single family 1 story homes in Tracy, Gilroy, etc. and commuting 2 hours because they want to live in a home like that, not because there's a shortage of 800 sqft condos in San Bruno.
