"Tram" is also sometimes used for cable cars and cogwheel railcars.
"Trolley" is sometimes used for trolleybusses (aka trackless trolleys).
>light rail Usually refers to a railway with mostly independet right-of-way and grade separation from other traffic that still uses tramcars or similarly small vehicles. Can also be used as a catch-all term for all of the above.
