>>1443235>He too was using iPhone 4 speakers, albeit only single ones with Loksound. Cheap & they sound pretty decent, more bassy?. I can only imagine how much better a pair would sound.Waste. LokSound decoders should be able to support two iPhone speakers per decoder.
The selling point with smartphone speakers, and iPhone specifically, is their almost superior-in-every-way sound quality compared to typical speakers jammed into model trains, especially those in factory installed sound systems. My two Fairbanks sound fucking amazing, while my basic bitch factory sound Econami Athearn RTR SD38's sound just OK.
Phone speakers offer the advantage of not needing to engineer a baffle, as they come assembled with one and are literally just waiting to be installed. Not to mention they are small enough to fit in most locomotives, even "hood" diesels such as GP9's, GP38's and SD40-2's.
>>C-Liners>>ugly as hell>Thems fightin' words. :^)That may be but I put mine to work last night. They ran like shit a month ago, and I gave the trucks a thorough cleaning and lubed the driveshaft. They now run pretty well, but I notice they are susceptible to dirt where other dumber locos are not.
Fuck can they pull, though. I took one of the club Taconite trains and ran that bitch at 55 scale MPH with TWO FM's where it takes other guys four Athearns. These are really growing on me. I hate the blue LED's tho.
>>1443352'Preciate it, but they are literally out-of-the-box Bachmann Spectrum. I haven't done any actual work on them yet, but I sure as hell want to install sound in them. I always run them as a pair as iron ore power and I really want to hear them bark.
