That being said, going fast and riding hard is just fun, so is passing and racing roadies in lycra on streets. Combine this with the fact that people who ride more naturally become stronger riders and you start to see that "unracers" are just consolidating an identity around half-assing a hobby because they can't get their ego hurt if they never try
