No matter how you have it set, it will be the wrong height for some form of riding
Hire rite is still a QR seatpost, just with one less step. I’ll admit it’s a bit better than actually getting off your fucking bike at every climb, but being able to adjust your seatpost dozens of times a ride without leaving the bike or losing focus is what’s gamechanging. Everybody can stop and readjust their QR seatpost, but when it’s a hassle, or you’re tired at the top/bottom of a hill, nobody will do it. Droppers make the need to adjust your saddle (which is inevitable in mountain biking) seamless and mindless, so people will actually do it.
It’s not a matter of “can you adjust your seatpost”, it’s a matter of “will you adjust your seatpost”
That hite rite spring may only be $30 but its as much work as downtube shifters on a mountain bike, and cheaper droppers are clearing $50 nowadays, and decent droppers are basically $100 now, that’s as cheap as a Thompson
