>>1452192>>1452340Looks like it makes for a nice workhorse bike ngl, here's my suggestions on cost-effective upgrades:
- Pedals, sort of obviously by this point. "Nothing fancy" BMX alloy flats cost between $10-25 and MTB pinned flats at the same level $25-40.
-Taller bars to help you with fit. My suggestion is the Origin8 MX Mini Urban Riser, $30, 600mm wide, 3in rise, alloy so probably lighter than stock bars, look kinda cool.
-Tires, inverted thread or slick depending on your area's terrain, improved rolling resistance really livens up a bike. A reasonably priced high quality set would be $40-60 but if you're a tight wad look around and you can find pretty usable Chinese tires for less like Chaoyang, Kenda or Innova. Or if you really want to save weight and don't mind investing more you can get some tires with folding bead.
-Optionally, if you don't get to shift a lot on the front and you want to take more weight off, you can go cheapo 1x; change the freewheel to a SunRace MFM300 (evenly spaced 14-34, $20 at most), and the crankset to Snail narrow-wide + cheapo square taper cranks, should be about $50 for that but sometimes you see them as a set for a bit less. You'll have to do the math on the size of the chainring, you'd want to have your cruise gear on 5 so the chain isn't crossed too often and you have a few gears up for going faster and a bunch down for the climbs.
-Brake levers, those don't look all-metal. Make sure they are V-Brake compatible. Maybe $15-20 but it can be less if you shop around.
-Optionally, shifters but if you like them you don't have to.
-If it's a really cheap derailleur and you get lots of chaindrops or the adjustment is really finicky you can get some basic shimano one like a TX800 or a M310.
Also put some color or decals on it m8, it looks stolen lol.
