Because my job commute is, on a good day, about 1h30m, going around 120kph/75mph for most of the trip.
It's also night shift and weekends, which makes driving significantly less stressful.

Been applying for two years at this point, unfortunately I need a certain payrate (~65k) to pay off my medical debts in a reasonable time span. I've even cut the booze, drive a beater, moved to a cheaper apartment, and usually have staycations. I know I lose a fair amount of money in gas.
Also, said medical issues have left me in a state that while I could bike to work, I'd be utterly wiped out at the end if it was more than an hour.
