It's a nice 10-15 min bike ride into town to the supermarket.
I can swim in the river at the end of the street.

When I buy big stuff like building supplies or firewood or stuff online i just have it delivered.
Even if I was old I think I could get by with an e-bike here and if i couldn't then i probably shouldn't be driving either.
Having a car for holidays is nice but so is bike touring and so is flying places.
The only reason I can see needing a car is to commute for work, or medical emergencies. But the latter issue in general is deeply ironic because everyone would be far healthier if they didn't use cars to get around.
