>>1459576Cotic has a pretty solid hardtail geometry, I have a very similar hardtail and it feels great, my seat angle is quite a bit steeper though which makes leaning forward feel a lot more natural, but I also have a slack enduro bike with a not-so-steep seat angle that feels like it lifts up on climbs all the time. I think that if people keep pushing longer reaches and slacker head angles, they’re going to end up with their feet right at the rear tire while stretching their entire body to hold the handlebars, at that point they’re going to need to stretch the chainstay length to keep it balanced, and that’s where things will start going wrong, since nobody seems to be able to agree on chainstay length. I think that even though everybody’s pushing a more stretched out, upper-body-dependent riding position, it’ll be fine until fit becomes an issue or chainstays need to be increased. But that being said, there’s a lot of people and companies that believe in long-ass chainstays (pole comes to mind) so maybe superlong will become its own new genre of bikes for people that really value stability and also don’t want to ever leave the ground
