The council spent absolutely obscene amounts of money of cycle lanes, they have just hiked rates on every property owner to pay it back so once again your cycle infrastructure is paid for by everyone else. They put the lanes all through the CBD along with massive islands to stop raging cagies hitting bikers, this effectively removed every single streetside parking spot, and made the whole CBD absolute fucking nightmare tier to drive through.
CBD businesses are now fucked, losing money hand over fist because everyone avoids the CBD and goes elsewhere, its basically a joke among everyone who lives here how bad the centre is now. Also no one uses them because fuck all people bike, someone did a recording of one of the main streets they fucked up on a weekday, guess how many bicycles he counted for the entire day? 12.
If you want bicycle lanes they need to be planned for from the start, not added afterwards.
