Those old train stations and depots are notoriously hard to find tenants for even after they're remodeled. The city or organization which owns it has the prospect of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix it up that it may never see a return on.

I've got 3 Kato SD40-2s(4790, 4791, 4796), Atlas GP35s(305, 323) Atlas GP40s(4713, 363) Atlas U23B(208 w/ the froglights added) U25B (237), Kato E8(665) and Kato U30C(4598). I've got some Kato F units on the work bench that I'm either going to do some plastic grafting on the sides to make them look like an F9 or just get some free CAD software and make them in brass from that one company in Scotland. Also some GP7/9s that I need to work on. Currently working on some MKT and UP shit before I get back into Rock modelling, though. Gonna do the Golden State circa winter of 1950 after the UP and MKT shit is finished.

It's just a numbering scheme, dude. You don't start from 1 and work up. You buy a batch of certain engines in a certain year and number that batch. 30xx for new GEVOs bought in 2016. You may only get 30 of them, but then in 2017 you number them 31xx and get 20. Then you may already have 32xx-37xx so you skip to something like 38xx.

Then what are you getting at? Railroads have been using 4 digit engine numbers for such a long time though CSXT still has a few three digit. The real rarity would be seeing a 2 digit car number. And yes, they do exist.
