>>1469448Same, i live in Brooklyn. At first the subway was seemingly the best option... then i started to appreciate how bicycle friendly this city is. 30mins during rush out in hot/crammed train vs 35-40 min cycle and shower at a gym near work has been a blessing! Nothing better than some "fresh" air and a workout to get the mind ready for work. Also got into using sauna's cause of getting a gym membership. Company has a good deal with NYSC which allows me to use all of their locations. 40$ a month for gym vs 30-Day Unlimited Ride for $127 a month is now a no brainer. I only use MTA during harsh winters now.
>>1469452I tend to only have crowding issues 5-6pm during the commute home- even then most of it decongests after it hits the areas that service NJ and other up/out of state transit systems. The commuters from outside of NYC are what tend to fuck the roads/subways up.
I cannot express how happy i am with how bike friendly NYC is. Could be better in the outer parts of the city but once you get closer to Manhattan its nice, just stick to the cearly marked bike lanes and don't listen to headphones.
>>1469531Because of the pandemic, i went for a walk around the random neighborhoods near mine. I live off the yellow line, and almost never go past my stop... Was suprised that the stop before and after mine are close enough to jog without getting winded.
