American here, how narrow can a lane be? in my area protected bike lanes were added with islands that make the two lanes very narrow, cars are always hovering into each other's lanes trying to avoid rubbing an island, if someone is towing a car or a semi with a trailer it's actually scary having to worry about them hovering over or (myself) hitting an island to avoid it. How do the dutch handle this or do they just not give a fuck about cars?
