US Car importation

Does anyone know of any good importers for new Lada Nivas into the US. I had a buddy run the preliminary paperwork, so it counts as something 'similar to a car sold in the US' and the DMV would let me drive it no problem. Anyone know of a company that imports European cars such as this?

It's highly unlikely you're gonna be importing anything newer than 25 years old into the US thanks to our stupid laws.
The "similar to sold in the US" means if it's the same model as something sold in the US. Like if you brought over a Honda Civic. We got Civics over here, it's no big deal aside from possibly needing to change out signals. The Lada doesn't have a US equivalent, so good fucking luck with that.

OP here, I work in the tool and die work, so I was hoping on getting something that I could tinker on and modify, while at the same point have something simple enough that I could also fix it or know why any modifications dont work.

If I get older cars here in the US I'd be afraid to destroy a classic.
