The rise of ebikes

No.1476058 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
How do you feel about it?
Bike companies seem to be pushing it really hard, especially in the mtb sector. With a lot of familiar faces being paid to promote them.
I guess for them it's a new way to milk the market.

Personally don't like them, or the twats who ride them. They are like a cult. Constantly trying to instil the virtues of ebikes with delusional lies like "it requires the same amount of effort!!".
I like to shut them down by reminding them that ebikes are bad for the enviroment, compared to a normal bike.
The batteries are toxic and can never be recycled. And overtime the constant recharging will result in a large carbon footprint.
I don't really care that much about the enviroment but this is always a good way to make these ebike idiots look stupid.

Furthermore i feel it flies in the face of what cycling is. It's getting somewhere under your own steam on this ingenious but simple machine.
Adding an electric motor completely changes this. Might aswell be on a motorbike.
