Hi ten fork
Promax hydraulics
2x 8 acera mix drivetrain
This is the cheapest hydraulic disc brake tier available. Not the minimum bike possible, but you can see it from here. Still an acceptable choice.
Decades ago, when Schwinn ruled america, and Specialized was trying to prove themselves, they were cheaper, but now Specialized has their own continental team. You see the same thing with Canyon going from the best deal to having their prices creep up.
The premium isn't that much. The 300 one from another brand will have significantly older/cheaper parts.
>MTBIf he's really fat, or the roads are really terrible,or you can find a sweet deal maybe.
>>1481888>>1481829>First off, is this true?Yes. One g off your wheelset is about the same as 3g off your frame for acceleration, braking. Not having to true your wheels or deal with bent wheels is also a huge difference. If you're fast enough, aero wheels are also a very large upgrade.
What drivetrain/hub compatibility?
>How much does weight of the wheels vs weight of the frame matter? Solid frame fat tire vs suspension and smaller tires?Fat tires have much more traction, which is usually but not always good. Fat tires also function like undampened suspension.
>>14818715 miles is about 20 mins even for someone fairly fat and out of shape. Normally at that price range, I'm concerned about theft for commuting bikes, Consider the domane the raciest most expensive thing you should consider. It's got a bit of premium price for the brand name, but isn't completely crazy.
>>1481777>>1481859Lets see your current bikes, so we have a better idea of what's going on. You're at the low end of actual mountain bikes. Either get good suspension or no suspension.
>>1481345Is there anything else for that price in europe? Watch out if you actually intend to ride those off road. The suspension is garbage on a number of their models.
