How was it decided that this is what "mountain biking shorts" should be? Isn't riding through tree branches and shit even MORE reason to wear form fitting clothes, compared to road bikes?

All this tells me is that MTB is just for fat people to LARP as physically active individuals. They need something to drape over their rolls and they're delusional enough to think someone might get aroused at the sight of their pear shaped figure.
