nah, MD was tanked when they bet the farm on military procurement at a time when new procurement was being drastically cut back after the end of the cold war. there just wasnt enough room for them to focus on purely military like LM or NG did, and if they put more effort into their commercial line they might have stood a better chance.

It's a Swiss attacker that they slapped a turboprop onto to extend its life a bit. It was used for towing targets and stuff for quite a while after as I recall.
The original had a shorter nose with a piston engine in it and only two rudders on the tail, not three.

The issue with the Arrow wasn't Russian interference, even though that may have happened.

It didn't integrate with USAF radars, SAGE or something; and the US had 2 or 3 fighters already in service cheaper and better performing for the Canadian government to choose from. -104 and -106 were both better than Arrow.

Good plane. Nothing new. Too expensive and didn't fit the nuclear defense role Canada's Daddy - the US - outlined for his daughter country to the North.
