>>1485859Nice troll.
Light rail at grade is cancer. No one is going to take it if it is slower than a car, which means less of it will get built in round two.
Getting stopped for traffic lights is 100% cancer for trains and almost worse than the bus.
I really really really fucking hate people who suggest it. It’s only for poor futuresighted community planners who think city budgets are real money. Mah “the poor people need a rail and this is the best way”
Commuter Trains
MUST MUST MUST
Be either above or below traffic to make sense.
>>1485923Don’t be retarded. LRT is stupid slow for commute. If you just want to go a few blocks just fucking walk.
The parts of the Los Angeles system that are on the streets are unusablely slow. The parts below ground or on old train bridges or elevated between the freeways actully get you places.
I don’t care how much more fucking expense it is, do it right or don’t do it at all.
God dam this shit makes me so fucking mad. It’s not like it is cheap at grade either. No one waits to spend in hour going a few miles in public traits shit boxes. And during commute times most cities run trains every 6 minutes, which is impossible if you have to stop for car traffic ever long block, then you get to a station to unload passagers, which means you have to wait for another light cycle to move again, god dam, you just really don’t understand how pointless grade travel is for commuter trains till you see it in person, it’s even worse than I am discribing.
Also thing is even it’s fences and gates they are almost never allowed to go very fast.
It’s like riding along in some nightmare dream where you watch the city go by while you barely move. Fuck god dam I hate community planners. Planning your city for poor people means you will only ever have poor people there. Which ironically makes it worse for poor people
