>>1487000These statistics are basically meaningless without knowing the portion of the population wearing helmets (and then a whole bunch of other factors, like WHO are wearing helmets, how they cycle, what sorts of accidents they have etc. vs those who don't). It's interesting that total is basically unchanged. Did cycling increase during that period?
That said helmets are probably very good, probably saved my brother from a much more severe concussion/death when he was t-boned by a car at a junction, but don't let them give you a false sense of confidence.
