>>1489651A true cx is designed for cx racing, but people realized they're great for cruising around on for fun and commuting, so companies started making "cyclocross" bikes not actually designed for racing, the difference being that these non-racing bikes will have rack and fender mounts (not positive if the race cx bikes ever did), and may also (but not necessarily) be made of steel which is comfy but too heavy for racing. I wouldn't be surprised if the non-race cx bikes may also have a little slacker geometry but I'm not sure.
As for 'adventure bike', sounds like a meme marketing term. I presume a company may refer to a non-race cx bike as an 'adventure bike', but they may also refer to a 'gravel bike' (which is also a bit of a meme marketing term), or a touring bike, or a hybrid, as an 'adventure bike'.
>>1489646Even if they are attached, they won't be properly adjusted. Look up the front and rear derailleur adjustment guides on Park Tool's Repair Blog. Adjusting derailleurs is easy once you get it down. Rear derailleur adjustment is perhaps my favorite of all maintenance work to do on a bike.

>>1488906You can ride on mellow dirt trails just fine. Hell I'll even take my 80s ten speed road bike with 28mm paselas on mellow singletrack. As long as the trail in question doesn't have rock gardens, huge roots, etc you'll be fine (and even if it does have that stuff, there is often an option to go around the obstacle). Go ride and have fun

Mildly cold weather (20s and 30s): Burton Gore-Tex gloves
Warm weather (40s): Giro Ambient
Regarding the Gore-Tex Burton stuff, don't go with the leather garbage. Go with the all-synthetic styles.
