Finally after two weeks of looking and thanks to an earlier thread being pointed out a fitness hybride would fit me more. I ordered and will receive my Giant Fastroad 3 SL in two weeks.

Any opinions on this Bike? Is there something like the DualTrap S that exists on this bike like Trek does with the FX3? Is it a good bike for long rides and losing weight getting fit?

The fast road is the flat bar version of the contend with hydraulic discs. It’s designed to appeal to clueless noobs, but if a fitness hybrid is what you want, it’s fine enough.

The saddle is completely unsuitable for its setup. Be prepared to replace it in case of anal pain.

I ordered it didnt bought it. Ordered it in the shop didnt even had to tell my name. I'll take my chances though with it, its the best I can get bcs everything is sold out it was the last piece coming in from another country

I think it’s a crit “fitness” bike is a crazy choice, but it sounds like full speed ahead.

I did a 189 mile ride (and multiple other rides near that length, all with no sleep or long stops) on a flat bar hybrid (that weighs more than OP's bike, btw). It's a great option for long rides. Especially if you add bar ends and/or aero bars for more hand positions.

Nope, and they weren't even designed for racers, they were designed originally to give long distance riders/tourers an extra hand position. If you disagree then enjoy being wrong.

My only concern would be if it doesn't have good rack/fender mounts, but that really comes down to whether or not you care about having a rack and fenders. And maybe that bike does have rack/fender mounts idk I didn't check the specs

Obviously a new rider shouldn't be in the aero bars while in traffic, on descents, etc but it's fine on long open stretches. Are you also gonna tell beginners on drop bar bikes not to ride in the tops ever?

The point of aero bars in this type of bike isn't aerodynamics, it's comfort from having an additional hand position, retard. Not to mention the fact that even if you are using aero bars for aerodynamics, you're more likely to do that on a straight open flat stretch where you don't need as quick of access to brakes.

Yes, I have aero bars on my hybrid. I am on the aero bars about 90% of the time when I'm on that bike. I do not have aero bikes on my road bikes since those bikes already have multiple hand positions given the drop bars. Though I do have another set of aero bars in my closet that I was thinking of putting on one of my road bikes.

This is terribly incorrect.
Due to the more upright position and wider tires than a road race bike, it is better for long rides, because it is way more comfortable, hence why touring bikes, which are built for long distance travel, are basically the same as so called fitness or hybrid bikes.

No. Please note that "long distance" means different things to different people but for people who are used to non-boomermobiles it means 100 miles or more. You really do not want to be doing hours and hours on a flat bar bike.

People can always have more than one bike. I can't imagine why anyone would spend over 1k for a hybrid, all you need is an alum frame, shimano gruppo and good wheels/tires. Hybrids are just fun jack of all trade master of none bikes. They are also much more equippable with motors due to the flat bar.
Hybrids are generally a little heavy but you aren't going for super light aero speed demon machine, you are going for a comfortable, pretty fast bike that can do light trails well too.

When you go for a road bike OP, don't skimp out though. Might as well go in deep and get a good CF frame that's aero.

To be fair, most major brands do have 'comfort bikes' in their lineups, and comfort bikes are the worst thing ever invented by humanity (i.e. the Sedona which that fucktard recommended).
That said, fitness bikes/hybrids are great bikes. You'll enjoy your new bike.

Comfort bikes are literally worse than beach cruisers. Beach cruisers are trash but comfort bikes are even more trash. And not all hiten is terrible. Sure, chromoly is better, but hiten can be decent.
