my relationship with the new one is very utilitarian - i love riding it, more than i did the old one, but it doesn't tug at the heartstrings. i'm not sure if i can ever love a bike again.
i imagine this is what it's like when you finally trade in your old BMW for a modern Accord that's faster, more reliable, and more comfortable. you realize what you were missing out on. there was some magic to the old machine, but it cost you some part of your life, and the new one just lets you be happy. everyone needs the old BMW at some point, and everyone needs to grow into the Accord. pray that you can find the manual V6 model to keep a little of that old spirit alive.
