I build a lot based off some of the designs which PennLUG members have made, which is why it may look familiar. The engine is completely my own deal tho.

wasted WAY too much time gathering reference material for a detail nobody would see when its running, but I still think its cool.

I used a digital render above, just because its easier to get light in than trying to photograph the real one.

my next project is building Colorado Midland 111/Midland Terminal 29... Its kinda on hold due to COVID making it difficult for parts orders to get here.

The club car is impressive imo. Lego trains always have to make compromises with scale, like passenger cars containing a single-file row of seats. But the club managed to cram tons of stuff in.

That's LDD, right? Just from my own experiences, I can not recommend stud.io enough. It's basically LDD except way less of a headache to use; and it lets you know how much it'll cost to order the parts for your model, and has a GREAT rendering system! Pic related.

Pic related is the only legit Lego set I owned as a kid. It's a rather simple yet very effective and nice looking model IMO.

I've also been working on some local Metro trains on LDD. Here's a NS-93 driving car form the Santiago Metro. It could easily be recolored into a MP-89 from the Paris and Lausanne Metros or modded into an automated MP-05.

I fell in love with this set at age 8 or something and spent an entire year hoping and praying for it for christmas. Unfortunately that was the year they discontinued the set.

I ended up buying it off of e-bay about 4 years later. It brought every bit of joy it promised it would. It's still in my parent's basement, and remains the best thing I ever bought.

The latter, it's a rebranding of the Creator Expert line which was usually labelled 16+.

Ironically a lot of the manchildren threw a fit because if they're labelling stuff 18+ what if they start making stuff based on adult IPs? (A lot of Lego fans have a weird obssesion with maintaining the purity of Lego as a toy aimed at kids.)

I won't lie, as a kid I thought it was an alien planet. They basically did it for the trains that had electric lights, so they could show a cone of illumination but it wasn't set against featureless darkness.

Alright /lng/, let's revive the thread with a discussion: What locomotive would you want to see as a Creator Expert train set in the future?
Pic related is my choice. The curved streamlining would definitely be a challenging design, and Lego NEEDS to make a steam locomotive with more than 6 driving wheels

It seems to me that with something like pic related, you run into problems with the stuff in the middle being difficult to access and having to worry about stepping over much of it if you want to try.

actually can take turns because there's some articulation on either side of the cabin. Inaccurate but they're kinda nice for it.
