Fact: Blowing your tires up til their rock hard is retarded, experimenting for the right tire pressure will give you more speed usually in the range of 5-20psi below that number, depending on the bike, rider, load, and terrian.
Fact: Latex tubes with a supple tire make you faster than tubeless but bleed air all the time. Latex Tubular Tires are the fastest but most risky.
Fact: Durable tires are better for everyone who is not in an actual race - training, leisure, commuting - because a puncture will fuck your day up harder than being a little bit slower.
Fact: The headset is the least important bearing on the bike. The only necessity is resistance to impact, unless you like doing barspins.
>>1499031True. Adjust your cup and cone properly and bring it to a bike shop and ask if your wheel is fine. If you did it well enough they'll be amazed. Most people on bikes won't change a tube, they won't adjust a bearing. It's also cheaper for teams to bang out a bearing and pop a new one in than to adjust it precisely unless the event has the setup time for it.
Cheap CnC bearings don't include a seal, however, which is more of a problem.
>>1499048>Axial load is 60% of radial force. Plenty enough. If it is not, you're using bicycle wrong.Half-true, a bicycle that doesn't hold up to drifting, bunnyhopping, and other tricks is one that is designed for a highly specific purpose. Even if it's shit for that purpose. If you are riding the wrong bike you're doing it wrong.
>>1499053Half true. UCI is gay but they do have a purpose from the multiple hand positions. Aero bars are superior to going into drops for the purpose of speed but sacrifice control.
>>1499139>people who fantasize about having the same bike until 2075 are just signaling that they don't actually rideFalse, they just are deluded into thinking the frame is not going to look beat to shit and be a ship of thesius of parts by that point.
