I don't agree with prohibiting the demolition of apsrtments which have received rent in the past 7 years because these could make way for bigger apartments, or they simply could be run down enough to justify a demolition. Besides, it should be up to the owners to decide.

The real argument against it, that none of the nimby congressmen will admit to, is that the bill will work to reduce the property value of the special interest groups which they serve. Right now californian low density cities are a fragile fairyland world where cities can grow infinitely without increasing the housing supply. I am very susprised that this bill passed. But the other hand, the battle is still very much ahead
