Also planes and cars are cool. I like both. But, planes belong on /o/, and more significantly I don't want to be forced to own and operate an expensive piece of machinery to be minimally functional in society. If I drive it should be because I want to, not because it's the only option. Planes, meanwhile, are the best option for long distance trips and will be for the foreseeable future, but if we start to give a shit about carbon emissions then efficient intercity rail could step in for regional flights and in many cases not lose any door-to-door trip time.
