Got an aerospace eng. degree from my state uni. BS and MS. Did two internships after graduating, now work at a big aero company full time as a stress/structural analyst. Nice salary and benefits.
SoCal is prime location, I think this is the only place where you have all the major aerospace players (Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop, UTAS/Collins, NASA JPL, Virgin, etc.) in one spot. Idk where you live but make use of your degree and apply for engineering jobs, aircraft maintenance is nothing but sifting through SRMs and CMMs, making terrible drawings using Powerpoint, and working under obtuse deadlines (AOGs).
