>>1540870I have this exact bike. Albeit in shittier shape. It's been sitting for quite a while.
I'm on the fence whether I should sell it or not. I'm 5'10" 190 lbs for reference
On one hand, it's heavy as shit, slow, large to store, and really not a GREAT frame to begin with.
On the other hand the seat is truly supremely comfy, and I could tear it down and do a restore on it or something I guess. I would get the frame powder coated as well as the rusty handle bars and fender possibly. It's built like a tank and when I used to ride it I did enjoy it a lot for just fucking around. But it is not fast. And the tire is a weird size.
It's one of the last things my late grandpa bought me I still have. That and a youth sized Giant MTX from the early 00s that I unironically still ride as my main bike. I'll upgrade that at some point in the future but pry keep it around as a loaner if I got a friend who doesn't have a bike and wants to ride.
Should I bother with my old Stingray or just sell it. They're worth about a hundred bucks depending on who you get in my area. They're popular to put motors on due to their motorcycle like appearance and strong frame, but I have to imagine they'd be slow as a gas bike. Or maybe it would be better as an ebike conversion.
What say you?
