Everything I can find on these airless tires is 50/50 split between people praising them and people saying they are total ass garbage. Are they good coming from a utilitarian/commuter point of view? If they actually work why the FUCK aren't they more popular?

Because puncture resistant tubeless tires are nearly as sturdy but at far lower weight and rolling resistance.

I’ve used them on bike share bicycles, they seem to be incredibly robust but it’s hard to tell how much they suck when the entire bike was shit.

pneumatic tyres being good was something we agreed upon a while ago it's like reconsidering if we should use metal or wooden rims or use fire to cook our food or that there are only 2 genders

Pneumatic tires have their advantages over solid tires, most noteworthy:

Solid tires have the advantage:

IMHO solid tires aren't worth it.

They are complete shit for bicyles. If you want to have pneumatic tires we can agree upon to be good, look at car tires and motorcycle tires.

OP, pneumatic tires form part of the intrinsic suspension on a bike, along with the fact that the wheel itself flexes a little, and so does the fork and frame. Together they absorb vibration. Your solid tires would make it feel like you were riding on the rims with no tires. It might even damage your wheels fork and frame over the long term.
Such things are for little kids' bikes not full size adult bikes.
Just learn to not get flats all the time and grin and bear it when you do like the rest of us.

OP get tire liners, they will stop all of what your pic shows, and you still get the benefits of a pneumatic tire. They are the superior choice for commuting.
