>>1548730It’s literally all just me.
I just don’t agree with the idea that we should bulldoze whatever we want to build new construction condos everywhere, especially in cities that are packed already and don’t need more people (unless, of course, you’re a politician trying to increase your tax base by luring young professionals with new build condos)
I also think a lot of the yimbys on here don’t realize they’re getting played by big developers (or just straight up work for them).
I think big cities like LA, where I’m from, and SF have a certain character and appeal to them (why they’re so expensive) that allowing billionaires to bulldoze everything to thicken their pockets would ruin. Places like LA just straight up don’t need more people, but more and more come every day. Also, the availability of housing has literally no effect on the homeless issue and I don’t care for your shill “studies”
I think cities should stay exclusive, that some places can be more expensive because they’re just nicer places. And if you have no reason to be there and cant afford it you should just live somewhere else.
I think that if people are unable to live in the most desirable places, they’ll move to smaller towns and cities that would be happy to have them, and would be happy to see new development, unlike the cities where they all seem to want to build, where absolutely none of the locals want that.
Bike lanes? Hell yeah.
Parking minimums? Get rid of them.
Close as many streets to cars as you want.
But don’t build any more of those fucking condos in Los Angeles, no one wants them, they only exist to help the rich get richer.
