>>1603736tnx, the bartape is $1 worth of some textured ribbon I saw at a textile shop, too
The whole bike is pretty much a rolling shitpost but it rides decent, may post better pictures when I get the slix and derailers on it.
>>1603800And that's without the gear cables lel
May get better when the stop for the cantis isn't in the stem anymore or I find some suitable sidepulls.
>>1603823The levers had some pretty long holes on them already, but as for the thumbies:
>chop clamp off from backing plate, file sharp edges as needed>take the bolt out, cut about 3mm from it>now when you put it back together you have just about enough threading to insert a bolt from the other side through the lever, treadlocker is a good idea because it's probably really easy to strip the cheap metal a $5 set of thumbies will be made of if you try to put decent torque on itYMMV and I'm pretty sure decent thumbies will need a different method. Cute bike btw, did you make the racks yourself?
>>1603920I'm going to guess the fact that most cyclists are mechanically incompetent, plus some sort of cuntish patent since it should be easy to make cheap versions and you would imagine that e.g. SunRace would've lapped it up already.
>>1603942If you have full friction like I have you can just swap them around to have the easier (push) shift pointing outwards, but so far with some mock shifting it doesn't seem too hard. The setup is probably a bit too clunky for competition use unless it's a discipline with relatively infrequent shifts but meh.
