I took a trip a week ago, and on one of the legs I was in an Embraer ERJ145LR.
Now I've always like them because they take off quick, but this time I was apparently in the one with the best thrust to weight ratio. Apparently more than a 777.
Anyway it took off hard and fast. I think it took 21 seconds from full throttle to takeoff, when the 737-800 I was on earlier took 41 seconds. The Embraer was a full flight while the Boeing was at 50% capacity and I though it was pulling hard. Very impressive.
So what is the fastest accelerating passenger plane? Is it the ERJ145LR? What about fighter jets? Is it the F-15E or does the Raptor edge it out?
