>>1560269Here's my pitch, excuse me if i'm not right on the lingo or dimensions...
1. Start with an 85' car, split it up into two 40' sections with a 5' central hookup in the middle
2. Each section is set up as a private car, with any number of configurations (single traveler, business, party train, etc)
3. The sections are modular and can be attached to cars (like shipping containers); and the module connects (at the center) to electricity, sewer, etc
4. Companies who operate in multiple cities along a line (like boston/new york) can rent cars by the month or year to use traveling between the cities. They pay a per month/year fee, and whatever $ for the electricity and sewer
5. Each car is considered a private car, so the usual no smoking, no drinking, no fornicating etc rules don't apply.
6. Long term rentals can be matched and attached to the same cars for a daily/weekly normal route, or sections can be plopped on.
7. Or, if you're super rich and don't want to fly, two sections could be joined to make one giant rolling suite.
The rich don't have to mingle with the plebes, and amtrak has a steady source of regular income
