They're quieter than chains. Mostly it's Harley being Harley and the belt driven V-twin is what they do so this is that.

It looks really nice. The tail lights should be positioned higher up and be stronger, though.
Also it lacks an integrated headlight (yet)

Okay, but why is the battery in the downtube?
One would imagine HD would be the one to do like old cruisers and make the battery a faux tank instead of being sheep and (poorly) hiding it.

It's a boomer mover, what's half a pound of cool looking plastic to remind them of their childhoods compared to their beer guts?
Also you don't need to oversize the downtube as much to compensate for the narrowed/cut open section, that has to save some weight.

Thats not just any belt,
That's surely a Gates, geared and kevlar reinforced belt.
They are more sensituve to alignment and frame stiffness, and they wear better than chain if kept clean. Geared belt does better at torque transfer.

I know shills like to cherry pick the worst of the worst, but maintaining a chain is piss easy today with modern materials and lubricants. It is entirely possible to not touch your chain for a year and it won't be noisy still.

This hadn't occurred to me.
The need for a 'split belt' in a belt drive almost negates the advantages of a belt driven drivetrain, it creates a point-of-failure for the drive belt.
They should design belt-drive bikes that have the rear wheel pulley outside the chainstay so the belt can be one continuous piece instead.

Honestly? I think that cyclists really don't. A road cyclist is never going to be stuck in a jam, they're usually behind cars (who pass them and long gone) or in front (in those unfortunate situations where cars can't pass), and only with their in-group. Compare the Dutch cycling model, with everyone riding bicycles and getting stuck in a traffic jam.
