rear fender does 90% of the important work, people act like a full front fender is going to save your drivetrain but it's not the case. it's just a huge annoying piece of plastic to fuck with that can go wrong easily and makes a ton of noise, for what. a little bit slower filth buildup on your shoes (not really a big difference), and the upper part of your downtube stays cleaner? not worth the annoyance, inb4 "but you haven't tried the REAL fenders", yes, yes I have, all of them, you don't ride.
tl;dr front fender is fashion over function, it is the bike equivalent of wearing a tie clip.
