Ebikes are devices with specific usage areas where they are useful. If you don't have a need for a device in these areas then you don't need an ebike. It's simple as that.

No. The speed limiter is like hitting a brick wall. It even slows you down going downhill.

Me on the otherhand hit 55km/hr on a 7km stretch of beach yesterday on stock legal shimano steps 250 watt e7000 motor.

Nice anon. Mainly wondering because my jurisdiction bans any e bikes over 32 km/h and I don't want to get fined or get my shit confiscated. My area is so hilly that I suppose consistently doing 32 km/h regardless of slope is faster than going faster on flat stretches and slower on uphills.

Mate its really fucking simple. Cops really arent clued into this technology. If you have a modern brand name FS ebike like me you can easily fit an invisible tuning kit to fool the speed sensor and go 50km/hr plus and they wont look twice.

However if you have some chinese / DIY monstosity with wires and battery and motor controller zipp tied everywhere they are going to assume its illegal and overpowered even if it is 250watt ....

TLDR: you can fly under the radar but it aint cheap.
