When I used to commute to downtown for work and school, I wanted a Blue Line extension to Schaumburg.

Now that I live in the city, I still want that extension and a brown line extension.

For this map, I'd like to see the Purple Line just be extended for the full loop to make the rail equivalent to the Beltway. Connect all the major suburban DC locations together and connect the ends of the Metro lines. You can finally travel from Alexandria to National Harbor without having to take the Metro through DC and take a bus transfer.

Also, for good measure, I added rail extensions going towards Fairfax County, Southern Maryland, and Annapolis. The goal is to make the area easier to traverse without a vehicle and encourage more TOD in the suburbs to boost housing options in the expensive region.

It's hard to tell but basically my ideal circle line for Chicago basically connects all the METRA lines to O'Hare and Midway. Ideally, Amtrak would also stop at the transfer stations basically giving all the Illinois corridor services quicker and more convenient access to O'Hare and Midway which I think could be a huge ridership generator.

I mean, on paper it makes total sense to have a pulaski running line since the west side has been fucked regarding public transport but making this line would ruin the comfy-ness of the brown line

One time I had to transfer between Midway and O'Hare and I was literally the only person on this huge charter bus for about 45 minutes. We did pick up some people at a bus stop eventually, but it wasn't for a long time.

The black lady driving the bus was real nice--we talked about homosexual relationships and how she was planning on moving to Minneapolis.

fun fact the red line was once the western leg of the green line (95th/danryan to Harlem) until it was rerouted in the 90s to be the 95th/dan-ryan to howard like it is today

me? extend Orange line to Ford city north like the original plan, hell the ROW still exists from midway over the tracks. my guess is that its too $$$ to build a 1/2mi viaduct bridge over the rail yard
