>>1572695Honestly this highlights a lot of the downsides of higher rise buildings. If there's a ton of mid-rise, you wouldn't even know there were beautiful mountains nearby. But with low-rise, you can admire their beauty while walking around the sidewalk.
The relative openness is really nice as well, it feels very airy and natural, not cramped and constrained. There's a reason webpages have lots of whitespace, and I think its important that physical spaces have it as well, especially when being outdoors is such a treat like in california. In higher rise places, you can be outside and still feel like you're indoors, and trapped.
