>>1573278>>Pedaling everywhere but on actual bike pathThere's a new bike path on my route, which is basically just a line on the footpath, it only lasts for a few hundred metres, it ends before the intersection at either end of the road, which is where it's actually dangerous to cycle, and it reroutes you straight into a busy bus stop so you have to slow completely to a stop incase someone walks off the bus and you hit them.
The road alongside it is also multi-lane and not busy, and it's after a hill so it's easy to pace traffic riding on it.
I don't use that bike lane, and i've had several car drivers get angry at me about it.
If you don't support comprehensive bike lanes and you don't want car infrastructure to suffer for them, they're going to suck. It just isn't going to always make sense to use them.
The point is that they're partially useful, for some riders. Namely unconfident cyclists who are scared of riding with cars. Maybe this is you? Maybe you could use them instead of me?
I understand that you hate cyclists on the road and you hate bike lanes and it annoys you when they're built and cyclists don't use them, but do you see how this is contradictory? You're making them suck and then you're complaining when people don't use them because they suck.
