Hello, I'm hoping on buying a new bike lock as my previous bike was stolen
Any recommendations for a lock, factoring in security and price what would be a good recommendation
I live in South London in an area with alot of druggies, I had two previous bikes locked by a chain and combination lock which may if easily been cut with any tool

Should I get pic related from Halfords? Only £40

While a gps module sounds very fancy, that would most likely require either a significant price that would overall be cost more than the bike and lock and I don't think I can go in some vigilante recovery mission where I risk being stabbed by a tramps joy syringe

South London is one of the worst bicycle crime places in the entire world. OP, your lock is not a bad choice, but it's really the absolute bare bones minimum. Check the next tier up. Also consider getting that for now, and a second, better one in the future when it's on sale, or an alternative to the cable. The cable is almost useless and just for keeping people from stealing your wheels too quickly.

No substitute for storing it inside.
