Why didn't electric scooters (read: likes of Vespa) or electric motorcycles got produced? They would be a great idea to transition people to electric inter-urban vehicles, especially in Asia which had a traditionally high scooter and motorcycle penetration.

Is there any good electric scooter in yurop? All I can see is chink s*t. Or shell I just give up and import an (otherwise illegal) 500-1000W ebike conversion kit, and ride it as I would an electric motorcycle?
