>>1583130It's gotten much better with corona, WAY less tourists and cityfags coming for the weekend. West Marin is still beautiful and true to its character. That being said, I'm just living in my boomer parents' Mill Valley house, I doubt I'll ever have the chance to buy a home here. Overall, I think the place might get much more liveable for a couple years after corona, I think I'd like to rent in downtown SF now that rents have fallen 30%+ YoY in fidi and soma. I'm having a nice time discovering really quaint towns further north, I think there's a lot of potential in buying real estate in a place like Windsor. Overall it's chill, before corona it was funny seeing cityfag friends increasingly coming to marin/napa/sonoma over the weekends rather than going out in the big heckin City, north bay really remains the nicest by a mile.
Long term, the biggest threat was techies and pajeets migrating even further north and displacing the traditional white/jewish upper class professionals/boomer executives here, and I say that as an aspiring software engineer. Even before corona we saw a bretty big backlash over the techification of SF, and now with corona I think SF is trying to redefine itself as an economically diverse city rather than Silicon Valley's backyard, and could end up being a firewall between us and South Bay faggotry.
TLDR corona cooled off the severely overheated and congested economy and might make the place liveable for more ordinary people.
