A cheap one costs $400k and sometimes even less. Id like to buy some riverfront property to avoid rent then dock it there to use as a vacation home/yacht. If its empty i could only run one engine which would save lots of money

if you can afford riverfront property, you can afford to build on that instead of buying a used-until-it-can't-be-fixed-so-they-sold-it container ship, which probably wouldn't be able to make it up the river to your plot anyway

Same place as a camper van: either a chemical toilet + greywater tank, or a single septic tank. The real risk is from farmers dropping cow carcasses onto you from overhead bridges though.
