disc required stronger forks and stronger forks ruined the ride feel of bikes, which were already ruined by 1 1/8 mtb size steerers. disc can only be compensated with carbon rims, fat tires, and tubeless. we've gone full circle for nothing and the price of components had skyrocketed

Pros:

Allow for 35mm wide tires more often than not, only limiting factor is the frame.

That's what I am aiming for.

1 road bike with 2 sets of wheels and tires.

dual pivot calipers and wide profile cantilevers are priddy smooth also
but yes not quite the same level as hydro
there is always a little cable and pivot drag to overcome

you can do your research and pick something with similar capacity
or do some simple geometry and fabrication to modify cylinder stroke or/and lever travel if there's nothing suitable
or just disregard everything and pull the brakes less/more than intended
