>>1587787The slave trade that was facilitated by Africans selling each other as slaves? Also like 99% of people didn't leave for the Americas in the first phase because they could exploit slaves. They went to avoid persecution or to search for a better life. People have been immigrating to Americas throughout the entire time Europeans have had access to the in search of better life because there was need for work and that work paid good money. My own ancestors went to USA, worked for some time, came back, and bought a farm with that money. Some of their friends and family never made the journey back because they fell in love with either the country or someone there. Outside of a very few upper class individuals no one went there with the goal of conquest or exploitation.
The "refugees" coming to Europe aren't getting jobs or setting up small businesses. They didn't come here because a hard working guy can get a job and earn enough to support a family or to go back home and buy a home with the money. They come here because they heard they can get free money and housing from the government. They're living on government gibs, they never bother to even try integrating into their new country, and commit crimes way out of proportion to the indigenous population.
Really there wouldn't be such an issue with immigration if it was hard working people coming for jobs. I don't know anyone who's against skilled people immigrating for jobs. People who have lived in a culture where rape and honor violence isn't commonplace and acceptable, or at least being smart enough to realize that they can't do that here. I know plenty of people who don't like illiterate goat herders coming here, living on tax payers money, committing crimes, and never integrating.
