I have a Kickr and it's fine for the most part. Quiet, reliable, but a bit weird in that I have to adjust my rear derailleur a bit when I put my bike on or take it off. Spacing is just a wee bit off, but it's not a big deal since I just use an old bike as a dedicated trainer bike now.
Not a fan of Zwift though. It's not videogamey enough, it's not a good training tool, the esports angle is a fucking joke, the potato graphics and lack of control make it suck for a justride™ sim, and the UI is a trainwreck, particularly if you run it on a PC. I dunno what the fuck they're doing with all that covid money but it sure isn't going towards improving the app. I like Sufferfest and Trainerroad a lot more because they know what they want to be and keep it dialed.
>>1592835I'm fine with riding in the cold, but fuck going on long rides in the pouring rain that we have in the PNW. It's joyless and increases the chance of crashing or getting caged. Same thing goes for riding in the dark for us wagies. The trainer is a better alternative to spending winter on the couch, and as an added bonus I can do intervals without worrying about MUP traffic getting in the way.
