If we ever ban jet engines and switch to full electric, airships are the most feasible vessels capable of ocean crossing. Maybe usable for short routes where high speed rail doesn't make sense to implement, though short-range electric planes are feasible.

Banning planes is the only way to bring back romanticism of travel. Planes are cheap, fast and don't need much infrastructure, there's absolutely nothing special about travel when $500 and a day gets you half way around the world.
