My shitty provincial city spent millions and a couple years making the roads bendy bus compliant, introduced them and then promptly got rid of them after a couple deaths. It's simply retarded to use them on narrow roads with tight corners, i.e. everywhere in the UK.

South Wales is the skanky chav-and-"minority"-infested part of Wales, at that. Used to take this bus to school as a kid before it got disontinued, the route was mostly a straight line so maneuvering wasn't an issue. The problem with these was that people would just get on through the back door and not pay.

Doesn't sound like much of a problem to me. Public transport, as with housing, utilities and food should be just available automatically and unconditionally to all.

Well the TFL doesn't have unlimited budget, unless the government gives them more funding they have to rely on fares. These buses had like double the rate of fare dodging compared to normal buses.

I was talking about what should really be the case in an ideal world. obviously every single aspect of (((society))) would need to be changed, the rich and the ruling classes burnt at the stake, property abolished etc.; something that's never going to happen so long as the bri'ish are the most apathetic people in the world.

Cycling in London has improved a lot, we're still way behind places like Amsterdam because boomers think cycle lanes are an attack on cars. They shut down that cycle lane because more people started cycling, really makes you think.
